Book club & the seed of knowledge
What is the Seed of Knowledge?
The Seed of Knowledge will be the Georgia for the Planet’s education initiative. As we know, education is critical in understanding climate change and finding a way to address its impacts. Through education, we raise awareness which enables us to make informed decisions, change our attitudes and behavior, and help us to adapt to climate change trends. Therefore, we must increase climate literacy. The Seed of Knowledge will consist of a Book Club, a Youtube Channel, and a platform for Georgia Environmental News and Opinion Pieces. Through these means, we hope to educate the public and work towards a cleaner, greener Georgia.
Every month Georgia for the Planet will choose a “Book of the Month.” The book will focus on climate change and climate injustice.
What We're Reading This Month
This month we’ll be reading This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. The Climate by Naomi Klein. Throughout This Changes Everything, Klein reveals revolutionary misconceptions about the relationship between climate change and our capitalistic economy. Every week we will hold Zoom discussions wherein we’ll examine and review different topics brought up in This Changes Everything. Through group engagement and analysis, we aim to promote climate literacy and advocacy.
